Citizens Warehouse Action Group
The Citizens Warehouse Action Group at Canal Walk is a 55+ adult community of nearly 2,000 residents. We have been fighting tooth-and-nail to stop the building of warehouses across the street from our homes in Franklin Township (FT). We are not against warehouses but we ARE against having them 100 ft from our homes or next door to our schools. As citizens and taxpayers we have a fundamental right to a livable community.
The warehouse fight
The Citizens Warehouse Action Group fought to stop 2 large warehouses (240,000 sq. ft., 75 truck loading docks, 45-ft high) on a beautiful undeveloped property situated on the corner of Mettlers and Schoolhouse Roads. These building plans are less than 1/2 a mile from Franklin High School and only 100 ft from our communities at “Canal Walk“ and “Summerfields“.

Planning Board Review
On September 26, 2023, the township Planning Board cast its final historic vote on the application in favor of our group. The review of the B9 application received a unanimous vote of 8-0 to reject Link Logistics efforts to reach approval for building their warehouses. Our team of professionals did an excellent job representing us. This was a long and arduous process that started over a year ago, but the fight is not over. Read the latest updates below. Please support the Citizens Warehouse Action Group with your continued donations. No neighborhood, no town in New Jersey is immune to the onslaught of warehouses!
Here is a story from the Franklin Reporter & Advocate local newspaper regarding the decisions made by members of the Planning Board.
