The Final Vote
Victory for Canal Walk Citizens on the night of September 26th. We, the people of Canal Walk, WON! In a UNANIMOUS 8-0 vote, the Franklin Township Planning Board voted to DENY the B9 Warehouses!
Our thanks go out to so many volunteers who worked countless hours! Our greatest challenge was to hire an attorney to represent the Canal Walk community interest. The general consensus we received is that the odds were against the residents. A special thanks goes to Stuart Lieberman, the attorney who represented our rights to health and safety and the other three expert engineers.
We are so appreciative of every neighbor and friend who spoke at or attended the Township Council & Planning Board Meetings. We know how hard it was to drive so far to the meetings on many dark and rainy nights.
Commitment for success
Victory for Canal Walk Citizens would not have been possible without the hundreds of voluntary financial donations from people like you. It’s the donations from individual people and many Canal Walk Clubs that enabled us to save our neighborhood from the threats of diesel air pollution, noise pollution, additional flooding and hundreds more trucks making turns daily into oncoming traffic. We especially thank our group and website team volunteers who put in countless hours donating their available time and commitment to help get the word out about our fight to protect our neighborhood. Franklin Township’s scenic corridor protecting the health of the natural environment and the citizens will stick around for everyone to enjoy.
The Township has currently filed a counter suit to defend against Link Logistics’ lawsuits against Franklin Township. This is something we’ll be paying close attention to. As threatened, Link Logistics may sue the town again. The Franklin Township Planning Board’s stance holding firm to protect itself against Link Logistics is triumphant and admired.
This success couldn’t be sweeter! We will continue to enjoy our beautiful Town and community without the threat of enormous warehouses 100 feet away.
Fundraising Continued
We still have bills to pay and hopefully some of you will be willing to help us now in the final fundraising. Your financial support is needed to help future fights and appreciated.
Joyously,
the members of CWAG
